In 2004 I had been the victim of a brutal, bloody, savage assault. Worse than that, the perpetrator lied and said that I had attacked her. My friend Suzanne asked if God was with me during the next 7 months when I cried out every day for help.
It doesn't say that in the Bible that God is omnipotent or that the Christian God is the only god.
Here is one question that I am 100% certain I can answer of all epic questions ever asked of me or anyone. Am I sure that God wasn't with me when I was held captive? Absolutely, definitely, beyond a shadow of a doubt, I am certain that no God was available.
I prayed without ceasing... desperately, passionately, and the God I imagined or any person could imagine, wasn't available for some reason.
This is precisely why I stopped believing. Maybe God is not omnipotent. Maybe, Satan or some other godlike entity was in control. That might give me hope, faith, and a reason to believe again...not that the God I thought I knew was there and I didn't notice. Thanks for asking, so I can qualify my potential future faith.
