Let's return to the narrative of how I was victimized and then treated like the perpetrator instead of the victim. I might seem to be repeating the same thing again. That is just because it is the truth.
This is not a story about how Ana was hurt and they got the wrong person. This is not a story about how I need to move on and not keep hoping to see the perpetrator punished for her crimes. Ana was not hurt. I was hurt and yet I was the one who was charged with crimes, arrested, spent time in jail and never got justice.
A friend told me how she was sexually assaulted and never got justice - the perpetrator never went to jail or prison. This friend was not treated like the perpetrator, though. This friend was not jailed and prosecuted for crimes related to the matter.
My life story will be told in this book so that you will know me. In this section, I will discuss the events that put me in a situation where I would be vulnerable... where I might turn to my so-called family for support. You will see how life had become so bad that by the time Ana assaulted me, one might reasonably be asking as I was, "how could things get any worse?"
